Opened in late 2020, Smoking Gun General Store and Steakhouse is located in Houston, a small town in northern Mississippi.
With a canopy and several gas pumps out front, it could easily be mistaken for a typical gas station.
But the on-site steakhouse, gourmet cafe, retro ice cream counter, and old-school candy selection prove otherwise. It’s a real one-stop-shop!
The steakhouse serves quality cuts of meat accompanied by tasty homemade accompaniments.
At the Gourmet Cafe, customers can stock up on delicious coffee drinks and baked goods. Quite comprehensive, the java selection includes espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, and more.
And then there’s the old-fashioned ice cream counter and the retro confectionery – both of which offer a sweet taste of the past.
Even without all the extras, the Smoking Gun General Store would still be a must visit.
Not only does the store carry traditional convenience items, it also has a deli stocked with Boars Head meats and cheeses.
The deli also serves a range of quick meals, including sandwiches and pizzas.
This might be the coolest gas station in Mississippi, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only one worth a visit. There are excellent gas station restaurants in the state. Some, like The Fillin’ Station, are housed in former gas stations, while others, like Kewanee One Stop, are tucked away in actual gas stations.
