In a city full of restaurants, it’s not hard to overlook some restaurants. For me, one of those places that I really enjoy but don’t frequent enough is Cafe Bel Ami. I remember walking into the restaurant for the first time over ten years ago and really enjoying it. Then I forgot about it, revisited the restaurant like four years later, really enjoyed it and again forgot about it.
Cafe Bel Ami is one of the restaurants that I think was a snub on the ICT 100. It’s underrated, even by yours truly, and I hope this blog can remind me not to let that to reproduce.

The decor really hasn’t changed much over the years, but this review is about the food.
The menu features French Mediterranean cuisine.
They also house what I believe is the best Caesar salad this side of the Mississippi. Their house dressing, fresh greens and anchovies made for a creamy, light and delicious start to the meal. There were times when I went up specifically for the salad and called it a day.
For my main course, I had the langoustines with prawns, which was another tasty dish to complete my lunch at Café Bel Ami. What sold me was the lemony garlic cream sauce, which gave it a zesty flavor. It didn’t feel as heavy as many other pasta dishes. The portion sizes were perfect for lunch and I didn’t come out feeling like I was eating my weight in linguine.
All in all, it was a solid lunch that left me more than happy and satisfied. The service was fantastic and I was happy to see the restaurant filled with many lunchtime customers.
@wichitabyeb What’s an underrated restaurant that deserves more love? For me, Café Bel Ami is always the one I forget about but shouldn’t. #fyp #frenchfood #mediterraneanfood #foodies #letseat ♬ French music, accordion, waltz – arachang
