Soon a new owner for the historic Miss Bellows Falls Diner | Community

BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – After recently upgrading the main entrance to Miss Bellows Falls Diner, located on The Square in Bellows Falls, current owner Brian McAllister recently said he is also working on a buy and sell agreement with a potential new owner .

Owner of Father’s Restaurant in Westminster for 34 years, McAllister has owned Miss Bellows Falls Diner for eight years, however, the local historic restaurant has been temporarily closed since the start of the pandemic.

After recently beginning renovations during restaurant downtime while improving the property for potential new buyers, McAllister had appeared before the Rockingham Development Review Board to receive the proper permit to complete construction of a new entrance on the south side of the restaurant.

The permit required that the entrance design, plinth and color be compatible with the existing features of the structure. “The permit process went as planned and ended well for everyone,” Brian McAllister said in a recent interview.

“We also have a potential buyer for the restaurant, which is under contract until the end of the month. The potential new owner is very enthusiastic and has a lot of good ideas for the business, so I hope the purchase agreement will come to fruition. In addition, I also have two other potential buyers waiting in the wings. »

As spring weather approaches, McAllister completes the new south side entrance, as he plans to close the final sale of the popular and longtime establishment soon. “Time permitting, I’m finishing the renovation of the new entrance and I can’t wait to see what the new owners accomplish in the future.”

With those renovations nearly complete and, most likely, the owner changing hands soon, this writer is very much looking forward to ordering two too-easy eggs, bacon, and an order of hash browns soon!
