The health and wellness region has opened in Lowell.

Nurse practitioner Kristine Starcevich opened the office at 12B Mill St. It provides primary care, cosmetic botox and lip fillers.

Starcevich is from Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School and Indiana University. She works full time in a clinic and has now opened her own clinic.

“She has been an outstanding nurse practitioner since 2003,” said office manager Donna Mundo. “She does primary care like sore throats, earaches and headaches.”

Region Health and Wellness can also help patients with chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension.

“She’s practiced in the area for her entire career,” Mundo said. “She lived here. His children grew up here. Her father is a well-known businessman in the community.

Area Health and Wellness will accept most major forms of insurance, including United Healthcare, Aetna, Signa, UMR, Medicare, Anthem of Indiana, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois. It is currently still in the process of obtaining accreditation.

Cosmetic procedures must be paid for out of pocket. The office will offer group discounts at botox nights, such as before weddings or other special occasions.

Area Health and Wellness is open by appointment only from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and 1-3 p.m. Friday.

A meeting with light snacks will be held at the office from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on April 6.
