Chop Steakhouse & Bar opens restaurant in downtown Vancouver

With multiple outposts nationwide, this will be the steak-focused restaurant’s second location in Metro Vancouver.

Downtown Vancouver is already home to several top steakhouse restaurants, and it’s about to have another one among the ranks. Canadian channel Chop Steakhouse & Bar is about to open a new outpost in the city in a very prominent location.

Chop is moving into 1055 Canada Place – the west building of the Convention Center – in Unit 26 of the sprawling complex. Space was previously the second location of Bellagio Cafea Vancouver Italian restaurant that continues to operate at 773 Hornby Street, not too far away.

Unit 26 at 1055 Canada Place had housed the Bellagio, an Italian restaurant. The space will now be a location for Canadian chain Chop Steakhouse & Bar. Google Maps

Although Chop has multiple locations nationwide, primarily in Ontario and Alberta, the steakhouse chain currently has only one restaurant in British Columbia, located in Richmond at the Sandman Hotel near the airport.

Chop has yet to announce Vancouver’s next location on its website or social media, but signage for the steak restaurant has been spotted in the vacant space at the Bellagio Convention Center.

Known for its diverse menu of accessible classics like crab cakes, Caesar salad and chicken wings, Chop’s extensive offering also includes seafood dishes, plant-based options and kid-friendly dishes. . Steak and prime rib, however, are Chop’s calling card.

Chop is one of two large-scale steakhouses coming to downtown Vancouver. Nearby, in the ex-Rogue space at 200 Burrard Street, Vancouver-based Glowbal Group is launching its new fish-and-chophouse dining experience, Riley’s.
