A unique pasta night at Connie’s Italian Diner

Head to this new Italian disco restaurant in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD for a pasta and cocktail show exclusive to Access members. There are only 50 places available, so book yours now.

Last month, the team behind Heartbreaker, The Everleigh and Bar Margaux opened late-night trattoria Connie’s Italian Diner. Like something “straight out of an old school movie,” according to Large format Contributor Jo Rittey, the restaurant features a jukebox, disco balls, red and white checkered tablecloths, lots of vinyl, oversized pasta, grandma’s pies and more.

And during this unique event, Broadsheet Access members can bring their friends for a “family affair”. Expect three hearty pastas, including cacio e pepe tagliolini and classic pasta alla norma, with an arugula salad and Connie’s Butter Garlic Parker House rolls. And for drinks, bottomless fizzy cocktails by Everleigh Bottling Co (including a juicy Il Carretto spritz).

Co-owner Michael Madrusan (Made in the Shade Group) will be there to discuss each dish and the evolution of the restaurant, inspired by memories of his grandmother, the restaurant’s namesake.

There are only 50 places available, so don’t hesitate to find yours. Tickets are $60 per person or $90 with drinks.

This event is exclusively for Broadsheet Access members. If you’re not already a member, you can sign up for just $6.50 per month.

The event takes place at Connie’s Italian Diner on Thursday, June 23 at 7 p.m., with tables seating up to eight people.
